Playa Linda is located in Ixtapa, approximately 15 minutes away from Zihuatanejo. It boasts hotels, resorts, restaurants, and a wide variety of activities, making it one of the most visited beaches in Ixtapa Zihuatanejo. In this ultimate guide to Playa Linda in Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, I will provide you with all the information you need to know.
Playa Linda, Ixtapa
Playa Linda is a 1-kilometer long stretch of gray sand. It is located 8 kilometers from Downtown Zihuatanejo. The origin of its name is unknown, but someone thought it was a good idea to call it Playa Linda (Beatiful Beach).
The waves are moderate and it is open sea, which means that the currents can be somewhat strong. Therefore, if you are going with children, you should take extreme precautions.
Playa Linda is right after the Playa Quieta, a beach that I also think you’d enjoy. In Playa Linda, there is a dock where you can take a boat to Ixtapa Island, as I explain in my guide. There is also the Crocodile Reserve, an artisan market, local restaurants, and many water activities you can do.
How to get to Playa Linda
The best way to get there is by taxi or private transportation, but public transportation is a good option if you are on a budget. There are many departures and it is not difficult to find your way.

En taxi:
A taxi from Downtown Zihuatanejo to Playa Linda costs around $250 pesos ($15 USD). The taxi will drop you off at the entrance to the beach, next to the artisan market.
By public transportation:
If you are in the Downtown Zihuatanejo, just look for the minibus that says “Playa Linda”. The transportation will drop you off in front of the artisan market.
